London Concours Showcases Stunning Line-Up of Green Machinery Inspired by the ‘Make Green Great Again’ Trend.

London, UK (2nd June 2023) – The London Concours, presented by Montres Breguet, is gearing up to captivate car enthusiasts with its seventh annual event, running from the 6th to 8th of June in the heart of the City. The latest class to be announced is the highly anticipated “Make Green Great Again,” which will take center stage at this year’s event. Inspired by the popular social media trend of the same name, the class will showcase a sensational lineup of special cars that dare to be different, all specified in a wide range of unusual verdant hues. Presented by Bespoke Handling, the class is set to celebrate and honor the automotive gems that are Making Green Great Again.

Curated by the creator of the original @makegreengreatagain page on Instagram, this class promises to be a visual feast for attendees. Expect to be mesmerized by the stunning Jaguar XK120, one of the last roadsters built in right-hand drive. Previously used as a company car, it belonged to Leonard Francis Parham, the boss of F Parham Ltd, and was not only his personal transport but also driven competitively in rally events. After passing through several owners, the XK underwent a meticulous chassis-off restoration to meet FIA specifications, making it a true masterpiece.

Another showstopper in the class is a breathtaking Aston Martin DBS featuring a unique specification with a Pentland Green exterior and Parliament Green interior. The DBS, which succeeded the beloved Vanquish as Aston Martin’s flagship in 2008, boasts a naturally aspirated 5.9-liter V12 engine producing 510bhp and 420lb ft of torque. Drawing inspiration from the thunderous DBR9 and DBRS9 GT racing cars, the DBS exhibits dramatic styling and utilizes carbon fiber extensively, resulting in a top speed of 192mph and a 0-62mph acceleration of 4.3 seconds.

The “Make Green Great Again” class will also include an exceptional Porsche Carrera GT with a Zagato body. This particular example was sent to Zagato in Italy by its current owner, where it underwent a transformation into a GTZ model with the addition of new panels and bespoke trim. The conversion, approved by OEM standards, maintains the car’s mechanical integrity while offering a slight weight reduction. The distinct green paint was specially mixed to complement the luxurious green interior leather, adding to its allure.

Furthermore, the display will feature the ultimate road-going expression of the Ferrari 488, the Pista, finished in Verde Francesca. This eye-catching model draws inspiration from the 488GTE and 488 Challenge racing cars, incorporating aerodynamic enhancements such as ducts in the bumper and a large vent in the bonnet for increased downforce. With a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 710bhp and a weight reduction of 91kg compared to the GTB, the Pista delivers an exhilarating driving experience.

Adding to the lineup is the irresistible Alfa 8C, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars of the past two decades. Born from a concept that captured global attention, the 8C features a 4.7-liter crossplane V8 engine delivering 444bhp. With its carbon fiber construction, transaxle layout, and perfect 50/50 weight distribution, the 8C offers a harmonious blend of performance and elegance. The showcased example boasts a special green paintwork that further accentuates its allure.

Last but not least, the class will showcase a very special Jaguar XJC owned by Harry Metcalfe, founder of EVO magazine and star of the YouTube sensation Harry’s Garage. This exquisite Jaguar underwent a two-year restoration, featuring custom paintwork

that was specifically created for the car. With lower, stiffer springs, new dampers, and a shorter differential, the Jaguar XJC delivers enhanced performance and handling. The bespoke paint, a unique blend of Aston Martin Minotaur Green without the bronze ‘flip’ element, adds to the car’s distinct character and elegance. It is a true representation of a classic, sporting British coupe.
