Road accidents are increasing in India despite efforts to reduce them due to the growing number of cars on the roads. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) recently released 2022 state-wise data on road accidents and fatalities. Here are the states with the most alarming numbers.

Compared to 2021, the number of accidents has increased in all these states, except for Andhra Pradesh, where the number of reported accidents has reduced by 1.4 percent.

Prevention Plans
The Indian government has been working on reducing fatal road accidents for years, including developing better and safer highways to drive on.
