The prototype shown in the images below may look familiar to you, resembling the Cupra Tavascan. However, this is not the whole story. It is actually an electric SUV based on Cupra’s second EV and will be the first model of a new brand that Volkswagen Group is preparing to launch.

According to an Automotive News report from a few months ago, Volkswagen has plans to create a new sub-brand specifically for the Chinese market. This brand will focus on selling electric vehicles and will have a more lifestyle-oriented positioning, differentiating itself from the more traditional VW brand. However, instead of investing in the establishment of an entirely new brand, Volkswagen has reportedly decided to sell rebranded Cupra vehicles.
