How To Transfer Screenshots From Your Nintendo Switch To Your Phone

Unlike many other devices, the Nintendo Switch doesn’t have a dedicated mobile app for transferring content. Instead, it uses a traditional method of creating a wireless connection. This may feel familiar if you’ve ever used a digital camera with wireless transfer support. Basically, the Nintendo Switch broadcasts its own wireless signal like a Wi-Fi hotspot, and your smartphone connects to it just like it would connect to a Wi-Fi network. This allows your phone to directly access the files you want to transfer. To begin the process, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on your Nintendo Switch.
  2. Go to the Home screen.
  3. Select Album from the list of icons below the game thumbnails.
  4. Press the A button to choose the screenshot you want to transfer.
  5. Press the A button again to open the Sharing and Editing menu.
  6. Scroll down and select Send to Smartphone.
  7. Select Only This One if you want to transfer only the selected screenshot.
  8. Select Send a Batch if you want to transfer multiple screenshots.

If you choose the Send a Batch option, you’ll be taken back to the Album app, where you’ll need to manually select each screenshot you want to transfer. Keep in mind that Nintendo allows up to 10 screenshots and one video to be transferred in a wireless batch. If you want to transfer more than that, you might want to consider using a flash drive or connecting your Nintendo Switch directly to a computer using a USB cable.

Porsche North America’s New CEO Comes From BMW, Starts In November

Porsche has announced that Timo Resch, currently the vice president of customer, brand, and sales at BMW M, will be taking over as the CEO of Porsche Cars North America starting in November 2023. This comes after former CEO Kjell Gruner resigned in July.

Although Resch is currently working at BMW, he actually started his career at Porsche back in 1995 and has experience working with Porsche North America in the past. Transitioning to the top spot at Porsche will not be unfamiliar territory for him.

Resch’s official title will be president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. Currently, the leadership responsibilities are being shared by Executive Vice Presidents Thierry Kartochian and Joe Lawrence. Kartochian is the chief financial officer, while Lawrence serves as the chief operating officer. They have been helming Porsche North America since Gruner’s departure in July.

No official reason was given for Gruner’s resignation, but he recently joined EV automaker Rivian as the chief commercial officer and president of business growth. Gruner had served as the CEO of Porsche North America for over two years, taking on the role in 2020 after being the vice president since 2010.

Stellantis announces start of electric vehicle production at Ellesmere Port – the UK’s first EV-only manufacturing plant

  • Ellesmere Port becomes UK’s first manufacturing plant dedicated solely to electric vehicles, as production of the group’s all-electric small van gets underway
  • It is also the first Stellantis plant globally dedicated to electric vehicle manufacturing
  • Plant has been transformed for EV production following £100 million investment
  • Plant upgrade forms part of Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 commitment to become a carbon neutral group, globally, by 2038
  • Fiat E-Doblò production expands the scope of Ellesmere Port plant to cater for increased demand for electric vans
  • Ellesmere Port continues Vauxhall’s tradition of manufacturing vehicles in the UK, which started in 1903, ahead of becoming an electric-only brand in 2028

Stellantis has announced that electric vehicle production has commenced at its Ellesmere Port manufacturing facility, making it the first plant in the UK dedicated solely to electric vehicles. The plant has also become the first Stellantis facility globally dedicated to electric vehicle manufacturing. This milestone was achieved following an investment of £100 million to transform the plant for EV production.

The Ellesmere Port plant will produce various electric vans, including the Vauxhall Combo Electric, Opel Combo Electric, Peugeot e-Partner, Citroën ë-Berlingo, and the newly announced Fiat E-Doblò, to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in Europe. In addition, starting from 2024, the plant will also manufacture a range of electric passenger vehicles across the Stellantis brands.

Kemi Badenoch, Secretary of State for Business and Trade, praised the announcement, stating that the UK government’s plan for the automotive sector is on the right track. Badenoch emphasized the importance of this investment in securing jobs and maintaining the UK’s position at the forefront of automotive innovation.

Diane Miller, Plant Director of Ellesmere Port, expressed her optimism about the future of the plant, highlighting its longstanding history of vehicle manufacturing in the UK. She also mentioned that the addition of the Fiat E-Doblò to the plant reflects the increasing demand for electric vehicles.

To support EV production, the Ellesmere Port plant underwent significant changes, including the establishment of a battery assembly shop, upgraded General Assembly facilities, and the relocation of the body shop. As a result of these transformations, the plant has reduced its total site area by 60%, improving energy efficiency and productivity. The entire plant now occupies an area similar to the previous body shop.

In line with Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 commitment, the Ellesmere Port plant aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality globally by 2038. Sustainability improvements include the implementation of a more energy-efficient paint application process and the installation of a local combined heat and power plant to generate on-site electricity, leading to further emissions reduction.

As part of its goal to become carbon neutral, the plant is also working towards utilizing solar and wind power, as well as connecting to the HyNet North West Hydrogen Pipeline.

Since its establishment in 1962, the Ellesmere Port plant has produced various iconic models, including the Vauxhall Viva, Chevette, and Vauxhall and Opel Astra. With the introduction of electric vehicle production, the plant is well-positioned to continue manufacturing vehicles for many years to come.

The Vauxhall Combo Electric, one of the first electric vehicles to be produced at Ellesmere Port, features a 50kWh lithium-ion battery and a 100kW (136PS) electric motor. It offers a range of up to 175 miles (WLTP) and can achieve a 0-80% charge in just 30 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger.

Currently, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroën, and Fiat are the only mainstream automotive brands producing vans in Britain. Apart from the Ellesmere Port plant, these brands also manufacture vans at the Stellantis factory in Luton, which has been operational since 1905.

Twitter’s Community Notes Are Getting A Massive Video Expansion

Twitter’s Community Notes system is undergoing a significant expansion with the addition of video capabilities. However, it is crucial to note that this expansion does not aim to replace the important work carried out by dedicated fact-checking organizations. These organizations are often faster and have access to certified experts, without the limitations imposed by the consensus requirements of the Community Notes system.

According to an analysis by the Poynter Institute, achieving a cross-ideological agreement on truth, which is necessary for Community Notes, becomes increasingly difficult in the current partisan environment. The Community Notes system has been criticized for its disproportionate implementation of moderation, safety, and security features.

For instance, Twitter has faced accusations of censoring critical voices that target the government in countries like India and the Middle East. In these markets, content shared by journalists and media houses is frequently removed or withheld based on government requests. With upcoming elections in 2024 in both India and the United States, the importance of addressing such concerns will only grow.

Community Notes, in essence, places the responsibility of fact-checking on its most active users who possess expertise in specific fields. This approach differs from having a dedicated trust and safety team to perform this task. Notably, Elon Musk, following his assumption of control, initially reduced Twitter’s safety team but is now in the process of rebuilding it. This development comes as X, Twitter’s parent company, is lifting its ban on political ads in its domestic market, which was imposed in 2019.

Kia Tasman Pickup Truck To Enter Production In First Half Of 2025: Report

Kia has announced plans to introduce two electric pickups by 2027, one of which will be a dedicated model while the other is targeted for emerging markets. Additionally, there is a ladder-frame pickup truck called the “Tasman” that will debut in 2024. The world premiere of the Tasman is scheduled for next year, with production set to begin in South Korea in the first half of 2025. Dealers will receive the first trucks in the middle of that year. Testing is still underway with prototypes of the Tasman.

Unlike the dedicated model, the Tasman will be available with a diesel engine and may also offer both ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and EV (Electric Vehicle) powertrains depending on the market. In diesel form, it is expected to have a body-on-frame double cab design with a payload capacity of nearly 1,000 kilograms (2,204 pounds) and a tow rating of 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs).

The exact design of the Tasman remains a mystery, as only a few test mules have been seen so far, all of which had a modified Mohave body. The Mohave, previously sold as the Borrego in the United States, is a body-on-frame SUV that is still available in certain markets. It is unclear whether the Tasman will be a pickup variant of the Mohave or an entirely different vehicle.

Kia’s Australian division is heavily involved in the development of the Tasman, as the Australian market is expected to be a key region for the pickup. However, the codenamed TK workhorse has not yet been tested in Australia, with plans to conduct final validation testing next year.

BMW’s Automated Driving Testing Facility is Now Open

BMW has recently unveiled its largest testing facility, a 1,400-acre site in Sokolov, Czech Republic, dedicated to the advancement of automated driving technologies. This Future Mobility Development Center aims to transform the former mining region into a technology hub. The inauguration ceremony was attended by local officials and Frank Weber, BMW Group’s Board Member for Development.

The test site, which required an investment of approximately $330 million, already employs over 100 skilled workers. BMW claims that the Sokolov facility offers ideal conditions for both simulated and real-world testing of automated driving systems. It joins BMW’s other testing sites located in Aschheim near Munich, Miramas in France, and Arjeplog in Sweden.

How Nio’s brand-building strategy extends beyond automotive

NIO at Shanghai Autoshow

Nio has a dedicated app that is as much about building loyalty as selling cars

Your wallet or smartphone is likely to be filled with various loyalty cards and apps that offer rewards for purchasing different products. However, Chinese firm Nio is taking this concept beyond retail and applying it to the automotive industry. While most car companies have apps that provide sales information or allow consumers to control their vehicles, Nio’s app focuses on building loyalty and creating a social media network for its customers. Nio currently has hundreds of thousands of car sales, but its app boasts 2.3 million registered users, with around 240,000 active users each day. The app has facilitated the sharing of 20 million posts, showcasing its success in creating a dedicated community of Nio enthusiasts.

Nio’s brand-building efforts extend beyond its app as well. The company organizes events, such as camping trips, for its loyal customers who sign up for these experiences through the app. These events serve as an opportunity for Nio owners to connect with like-minded individuals and share their enthusiasm for the brand. Nio also collaborates with its users through a partner program, where discounts are offered to other app users. The focus on user satisfaction is a key aspect of Nio’s strategy, as the company believes that existing owners are their best ambassadors.

In addition to building a community through its app and events, Nio has created physical spaces called Nio Houses. These establishments not only showcase Nio cars but also feature coffee shops where customers can purchase Nio-branded drinks and snacks using either cash or Nio points. Nio points can be earned by participating in Nio events, posting on the app, or buying Nio products. Speaking of products, Nio has developed a brand called Nio Life, which offers a wide range of merchandise across different categories, including homeware, fashion, and food.

Nio’s commitment to community-building is evident in its formation of a user advisory board consisting of company representatives and elected owners. This board helps guide the company’s efforts, including charitable initiatives supported by the dividends from the shares donated by Nio’s founder. Despite its success in China, the question remains: will Nio’s unique approach to brand-building translate to other markets, particularly Europe? Nio is expanding into various European countries, including the UK, and believes that the trust and loyalty it has fostered with its users can be replicated elsewhere.
