Maruti’s Pending SUV Orders Get Close To The 1-lakh Mark


Maruti Grand Vitara, Brezza and Jimny have combined pending orders of 98,000 units

Maruti, in its annual report for the financial year 2022-23, has revealed some details of the 3.55 lakh pending orders. Its SUVs, the Grand Vitara, Brezza and the newly launched Jimny, account for a combined 98,000 units of that tally.

High pending orders translate to longer waiting periods, although the latter does vary depending on the variant as well. For the Brezza and Grand Vitara, the waiting period can go up to seven months in Mumbai. The average waiting period for the Brezza is around three months, and for the Grand Vitara, it is about four months in metro cities.

Jimny on the other hand has a much lower waiting period, the highest going only up to three months.

Another reason for high pending orders could be that the carmaker allocates certain units of its models for export, but the number of pending orders could reduce in the coming years as Maruti is planning to set up another manufacturing facility, the construction of which is underway, and increase its production capacity.

Building on the all-new redesign of the iconic crossover vehicle last year, Lexus adds the much-anticipated plug-in hybrid to the electrified lineup. The 2024 Lexus RX 450h+ offers standard luxury elements, intuitive technology, and thoughtful in-cabin features.

RX-First Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

The 2024 RX 450h+ hybrid system combines a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery, resulting in a manufacturer-estimated combined 83 MPGe rating. With an estimated 0-60 time of 6.2 seconds, the RX 450h+ delivers luxury performance and consistent acceleration. It also has a manufacturer-estimated 35-mile electric driving range.

The RX450h+ comes with a Level 1 vehicle-charging cable, as well as a J1772 (Type 1) socket for at-home and public charging. The high-output, high-efficiency charging system allows for faster charging times, with the RX 450h+ being fully charged in approximately two-and-a-half hours using the standard 6.6 kW Onboard Charger.

Featuring an electronically controlled, full-time AWD system, the RX 450h+ offers a confident and sporty driving experience. The system optimizes torque distribution to the front and rear wheels based on driving conditions, giving the driver more control in various road conditions.

Standard Luxury Grade

The RX 450h+ comes with standard luxury features found on the 2023 RX. It features a striking design with a spindle grille at the front and a sleek body, showcasing athleticism and finesse. The low center of gravity is accentuated by 21-inch 20-spoke alloy wheels with a dark premium metallic finish. At the rear, a single lens taillamp wraps around the body, emphasizing the RX’s wide and low silhouette.

The RX 450h+ is available in eight exterior color options. Inside, the RX 450h+ offers an intuitive layout with essential controls and information within reach. It comes with premium features such as perforated semi-aniline leather-trimmed interior, heated and ventilated power seats, ambient lighting, a heated wood and leather-trimmed steering wheel, and a standard panorama glass roof. The RX 450h+ also offers a 21-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System for an immersive audio experience.

Technology and Convenience Features

The 2024 RX 450h+ comes with a 14-inch high-definition touchscreen, providing easy-to-use controls and clear information to the driver and front-seat passengers. It also offers cloud navigation, intelligent assistant, digital key, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, remote connect, safety connect, service connect, head-up display, Mark Levinson surround sound, advanced park with remote park, digital latch with safe exit assist, and traffic jam assist.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0

The 2024 Lexus RX 450h+ comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes features such as pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, proactive driving assist, road sign assist, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, intelligent high beam, and all-speed dynamic radar cruise control with curve speed management.

Ranking of the Most Fuel Efficient Hybrid SUVs

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is considered one of the most fuel-efficient options among hybrid SUVs. It has a starting price of $31,225 and combines a 40-mpg fuel efficiency rating, according to EPA estimates. This rating is based on achieving approximately 41 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. The RAV4 Hybrid is equipped with a 2.5L Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine, along with front and rear electric motors, resulting in a combined power output of 219 horsepower. It offers an 8- or 10.5-inch touchscreen for selecting options and features a voice command system activated with the phrase “Hey, Toyota.” Additionally, the 2023 RAV4 Hybrid is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM radio. Some models also come with a JBL Premium Audio system featuring 11 speakers placed in nine different locations, including a subwoofer.

The 2023 RAV4 Hybrid includes a range of convenient features such as Qi wireless charging, a brake hold function, and heated or ventilated front seats. In terms of safety, this hybrid SUV is equipped with a pre-collision system that includes pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. It also has automatic high beams in certain conditions, lane departure alerts with steering and lane-tracing assist, adaptive cruise control, and road sign assist.

The interior of the 2023 RAV4 Hybrid offers ample space, with 41 inches of legroom in the front seats and 37.8 inches in the second row. The second-row seats are designed with a 60/40-split folding feature. With the seats positioned upright, the vehicle provides 37.5 cubic feet of cargo space. The fuel tank has a capacity of 14.5 gallons, and the maximum towing capacity stands at 1,750 pounds.
