BMW at the Japan Mobility Show 2023.

The trade fair serves as the platform for the world premiere of the new BMW X2 and the debut of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse in Asia. The BMW stand showcases a wide range of new models and digital technologies aimed at enhancing the user experience. Visitors can expect to see digital innovations in the new BMW X2, such as the upgraded BMW iDrive control system and access to innovative features like in-car gaming and video & audio streaming. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse offers a glimpse into the driving and user experience of the future, with its BMW Panoramic Vision and advanced BMW iDrive system. The BMW press conference will be broadcast as an on-demand webcast.

Ongoing expansion of fully electric model line-up.

BMW continues to expand its lineup of fully electric models with the introduction of the BMW iX2. The brand now offers at least one fully electric model in every relevant segment. At the Japan Mobility Show 2023, BMW showcases its electric mobility lineup, including the BMW iX1, BMW i4, BMW i5, BMW iX, and BMW i7. The brand also highlights the importance of electrified drive systems in the luxury segment, with the display of the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, BMW XM Label Red, and BMW X7.

World premiere: the all-new BMW X2 and the first-ever BMW iX2.

The new BMW X2, known for its concept of a Sports Activity Coupe, is now even more distinctive and forward-looking. For the first time, it is also available in an all-electric version, the BMW iX2. More details will be announced closer to the official communication date. Both the all-new BMW X2 and the BMW iX2 will make their first public appearance at the Japan Mobility Show 2023.

Asian premiere: the BMW Vision Neue Klasse.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse showcases the future of the BMW brand in terms of electric, digital, and circular mobility. Its design features elements that will influence future models in the Neue Klasse lineup, while its user experience offers a merge of the real and virtual worlds through the next-generation BMW iDrive system. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse also introduces major advances in drive technology, including increased efficiency, longer range, and quicker charging capabilities. The use of secondary raw materials and resource-efficient production also contributes to reducing the lifecycle carbon footprint of Neue Klasse models.

Driving innovation: the BMW iX5 Hydrogen.

BMW is driving the development of hydrogen fuel-cell drive technology with the BMW iX5 Hydrogen. This pilot series vehicle combines locally emission-free driving with a long range and short refueling stops. Its highly efficient fuel-cell system, based on fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, draws energy from a high-performance battery specially developed for the hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle. The BMW iX5 Hydrogen demonstrates the BMW Group’s expertise and “technology-open” approach in drive systems. The fuel cells are sourced from Toyota Motor Corporation as part of a long-standing strategic partnership for the development of hydrogen technologies.
