WASHINGTON, Nov. 1, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has donated eight Mazda CX-50 vehicles to the Red Cross Alabama and Mississippi Region. Mazda’s donation of vehicles to the Red Cross serves as an opportunity to give back to the communities where it operates. Since 2015, MNAO has donated a total of 90 vehicles to Mazda dealerships across the country, specifically to Red Cross offices in need of transportation. These vehicles are used by the Red Cross for disaster response, providing shelter and resources, and supporting biomedical services.

“Mazda’s partnership with the American Red Cross has been ongoing for nearly three decades, and we are grateful for the work they do in the communities we serve,” said Naoki Okano, Senior Vice President of Monotsukuri Operations, Mazda North American Operations. “We are honored to provide the Alabama-Mississippi Region with eight locally manufactured Mazda CX-50s from our plant in Huntsville, AL. These vehicles will serve as additional emergency vehicles for local communities.”

“In recent years, we have been on the ground responding to an increasing number of tornadoes, home fires, and other disasters,” said Mark Beddingfield, Regional Chief Executive Officer of the Red Cross Alabama and Mississippi Region. “This generous donation of vehicles will not only enable us to fulfill our unwavering commitment to protect life and alleviate suffering, but their versatility will allow us to meet a wide range of needs, including biomedical services and disaster response.”

The American Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters across the country each year, providing assistance to individuals in need regardless of income or cost. Their services are made possible through the generosity of donors.
