Infiniti is entering the electric vehicle market with its first-ever EV, and the automaker aims to make a grand entrance. The company recently unveiled the Vision Qe concept at the Japan Mobility Show, giving a glimpse of what their upcoming electric sedan might look like.

One notable feature of the Vision Qe concept is its updated design language called “Artistry in Motion,” which includes a signature single fluid motion line that extends from the hood to the rear of the vehicle. The iconic Infiniti “double arch” grille is also present but with unique lighting elements instead of a traditional grille insert.

The headlights of the Vision Qe concept are slim and extend onto the front fenders in a hook-like shape, which is part of Infiniti’s “digital piano key” design. The front bumper has a bold and aggressive look with angular LED lights outlining its shape, and even the Infiniti logo on the hood is illuminated.

Unfortunately, specific details about the powertrain, battery capacity, and range of Infiniti’s first EV are still unknown. However, Infiniti promises that it will be a high-performance vehicle with an engaging all-electric drive. Currently, the Q50 and Q60 Red Sport models are Infiniti’s most powerful and engaging cars with 400 horsepower, indicating that there is potential for further improvement in their electric lineup.

While the exact launch date of the Infiniti EV remains unknown, the Vision Qe will mark the beginning of Infiniti’s venture into electric vehicles. Following the sedan, Infiniti plans to release an electric SUV, as well as two new gasoline models in the coming years.

A new Infiniti QX80 is scheduled to debut in 2024, inspired by the QX Monograph concept unveiled earlier this year. Additionally, a crossover coupe model named QX65 will join the lineup in 2024, based on the current QX60 but with styling reminiscent of the QX55.
