Streaming from your iPhone to a Samsung TV: A Step-by-Step Guide

If you want to stream video from your iPhone to a Samsung TV, the easiest way is to use AirPlay. However, not all Samsung TVs are compatible with AirPlay, especially those made before 2018. In such cases, the old-fashioned method of using HDMI is required. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A Lightning Digital AV Adapter
  • An HDMI cable

You can purchase the Lightning Digital AV Adapter from Apple’s website for $49, or you can find cheaper options from reliable third-party brands on Amazon. Make sure to choose an adapter that is MFi (Made for iPhone) certified. If you don’t already have an HDMI cable, you’ll need to buy one separately.

Once you have the necessary hardware, follow these steps to connect your iPhone to your Samsung TV:

  1. Plug the Lightning end of the adapter into your iPhone.
  2. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into your Samsung TV.
  3. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the adapter.
  4. If required, select the correct HDMI input on your TV.
  5. Your iPhone screen should now be mirrored on the TV.

You can now navigate to the desired photo, video, or other content on your iPhone and view it on the TV screen. It’s worth noting that Apple’s Lightning Digital AV Adapter also has a charging port. So, if your iPhone’s battery is running low while streaming, you can charge it using the adapter.
