PLANO, Texas (Sept. 27, 2023) – Toyota is introducing the Highlander Hybrid Nightshade Edition for the 2024 model year. This new model features a blackout treatment to the wheels, grille, mirror caps, and rear badging, giving it a striking appearance. The Highlander Hybrid Nightshade is available on the LE and XLE grades, adding an extra layer of style to the Highlander lineup. Inside, the XLE grade features uniquely trimmed black seats with silver accents. The Highlander Hybrid Nightshade is designed to exceed expectations and stand out from the crowd.

The 2024 Highlander comes in six different Hybrid grades and five different gas grades, with seating for up to eight passengers. The Hybrid models are equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder hybrid engine, while the gas grades feature a 2.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. The Highlander now comes standard with a hands-free power liftgate on all XLE (gas, hybrid, Nightshade) and XSE (gas) grades.

The Highlander offers a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with different drivetrain options available depending on the grade. The 2024 Highlander Hybrid has an impressive fuel efficiency rating, with up to a manufacturer-estimated 36 MPG combined rating, while the gas model achieves up to 29 MPG. The Highlander Hybrid Nightshade edition features bold style with blacked-out touches. It is available in a choice of exterior colors, including Cement, Wind Chill Pearl, Midnight Black Metallic, or Ruby Flare Pearl. The Nightshade edition also includes black painted 18-inch five-spoke wheels, black grille trim, mirror caps, door handles, rear badging, rear spoiler, and shark fin antenna. The XLE Nightshade grade also adds black roof rails.

Inside, the LE Nightshade grade features black fabric-trimmed seats, while the XLE grade adds black two-toned Softex-trimmed seats with unique embossed fabric inserts and silver accent stitching. The XLE Nightshade also includes standard heated seats for the driver and front passenger, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, and captain seats for the second row passengers. The LE and XLE Nightshade grades come with an 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen as standard, with the option to upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen on the XLE grade.

The Highlander Hybrid is known for its remarkable efficiency and performance. It combines a high-efficiency 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with two electric motor-generators, delivering a total system horsepower of 243. The Highlander Hybrid’s battery pack is installed under the second-row seats, preserving cargo and passenger space. The Hybrid models also feature an advanced all-wheel drive system that can power the rear wheels when needed, seamlessly switching on and off as required.

The gas grades of the Highlander are powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers impressive power and efficiency. AWD models also feature Multi-Terrain Select, allowing drivers to select between different driving modes for various off-road situations.
