The Alfa Romeo Tonale is set to become a part of Italy’s police force, the Carabinieri. Over the span of July 2021 to late 2024, the automaker will deliver 400 hybrid crossovers to the agency. These vehicles will be included in the mobile radio unit that operates throughout the country.

The Tonale hybrid is equipped with an electrified 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 163 horsepower. It is paired with Alfa Romeo’s seven-speed TCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. These crossovers will be styled with the traditional red-and-blue livery of the mobile radio unit, along with a white roof.
