During the recent unveiling of the latest F-150, Ford introduced some exciting enhancements to the cargo bed area. In the competition among the top three truck manufacturers, Ford has joined the race with the Pro Access Tailgate, claiming its spot as the most luxurious tailgate.

In addition to the standard drop-down mode, the Pro Access Tailgate features a center segment that opens horizontally like a door, much like RAM’s “Multifunction” tailgate. This innovative design allows for easier access to items in the bed without the need to reach over a traditional tailgate. Even if customers choose not to upgrade to the Pro Access Tailgate, they will still benefit from one or two covered storage boxes on the sides of the bed, depending on whether Pro Power Onboard is already occupying one side.

Ford has also improved the ordering experience for interested F-150 customers. The 2024 model offers a 90% reduction in complexity compared to the ordering process for the 2023 models. As a welcome change for consumers, Ford has made certain previously optional equipment now standard, including a larger extended-range fuel tank and a Class IV trailer hitch.
