The iPhone Safari Change You Can Make If You Don’t Like Where The Address Bar Is

If you’re thinking of changing Safari’s address bar location, it’s worth considering that leaving it at the bottom allows you to swipe between tabs, which can be quite convenient. However, if you still want to change it, here’s how to do so on iOS 17:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Safari.
  3. Find the Tabs section.
  4. Tap Single Tab to move the address bar to the top.

If you change your mind, you can always go back to that section and tap Tab Bar.

For iPhone users with iOS 16, the steps will be slightly different:

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Tap the AA button on the address bar to reveal an options menu.
  3. Choose Show Top Address Bar.

Once again, if you change your mind, simply tap the AA button on the address bar and select Show Bottom Tab Bar to revert to the tab bar at the bottom and disable the top address bar.

This Mercedes-Benz Diesel Refuses To Die

Leaving a car parked and exposed to the elements for years often leads to significant issues. Rust and deteriorating gaskets, as well as fluid leaks, are common problems. However, not every car forgotten in a field is destined for the junkyard. A recent video shows an old Mercedes 200D W124 starting and driving again after sitting idle for eight years.

This diesel sedan has been through better days, but it’s not beyond saving. It has traveled 178,830 miles (287,800 kilometers) in its lifetime. Despite missing a battery and some unconnected hoses, the engine bay is dirty but intact. Surprisingly, there is still oil in the engine, albeit dirty, and the air filter is relatively clean.

With some fresh fuel, coolant, and a new battery, this rescued Mercedes is up and running again. It starts right up as if it had been waiting to be driven, even after sinking into the ground. Motor1.com contacted the creator of the video to learn more about the car’s recovery.

The cabin of the car is dirty, with various switches covered in grime and inoperable. However, the seats are not ripped apart, and the windshield wiper works with some effort. The only issue seems to be a stiff shifter. Surprisingly, the interior is in better condition than the rusting exterior.

In the video, a high-pressure wash removes a significant amount of grime from the car’s exterior, but some imperfections remain embedded in the paint. Some body panels are still dirty, highlighting the remaining rust spots on the truck lid, rear fascia, and hood. Additionally, some trim pieces are starting to fall off.

After cleaning a clogged fuel filter, the car runs well, although it emits a lot of smoke under acceleration. It likely needs new oil and a bit more tender loving care to be in top-notch condition. There are a few remaining issues, such as a non-functioning alternator, a broken horn, and the car continuing to run even with the key turned off and removed. Clearly, there is still some work to be done.

Exclusive: Volkswagen Up production ends after 12 years

After 12 years on the market, the Volkswagen Up has ceased production, leaving the Polo as the smallest model in the company’s lineup. The last Volkswagen Up was manufactured at the VW Group’s factory in Bratislava, Slovakia. However, remaining units are still available from UK dealerships.

The Volkswagen Up was introduced in 2011 as the successor to the Volkswagen Fox. It initially had a starting price of £8256, making it one of the most affordable cars on the market. Over time, the starting price increased to over £15,000.

Throughout its production run, the Volkswagen Up offered a range of powertrain options. When it first launched, customers could choose between a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 59bhp or 74bhp. In 2016, a facelift brought a turbocharged variant with 89bhp.

In 2014, Volkswagen introduced the electric Volkswagen e-Up with an 18.7kWh battery and a claimed range of 161 miles. From 2019, a larger 32.2kWh battery was offered, increasing the range to 161 miles, surpassing some of its newer competitors.

Earlier this year, the Volkswagen Up GTI, a high-performance variant of the Up, was also discontinued after being temporarily pulled from the market. The GTI featured 113bhp, a sportier design, and a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Up was part of the Volkswagen Group’s New Small Family (NSF) vehicle series, along with the Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo, both of which have already been phased out.

With the Up discontinued, the Volkswagen Polo now serves as the smallest model in Volkswagen’s UK lineup. However, there have been discussions about potentially removing the Polo from the lineup in the future due to new Euro 7 regulations and replacing it with a small electric vehicle, possibly the ID 2.

As a replacement for the Up, Volkswagen is planning to introduce an ultra-compact electric city car called the Volkswagen ID 1 within the next five years. The ID 1 is expected to have a starting price of less than £17,000.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Renderings Preview Redesigned Crossover’s New Look

Volkswagen is preparing to launch the next-generation Tiguan, and while the automaker has been teasing the model extensively, there are still a few details that haven’t been revealed. However, unofficial renderings have recently emerged, providing a possible preview of the Tiguan’s redesigned exterior.

The upcoming Tiguan boasts a smoother design compared to its predecessor, featuring a wide lower grille opening in the front bumper. The renderings remove the remaining camouflage from the popular SUV, uncovering a wide light bar positioned between the front headlights, which might be a part of the final design.

In terms of the rear design, the rendering showcases a thick, full-width taillight element that was captured on a completely uncovered example during a photo shoot. Additionally, without any camouflage, the renderings reveal a boxy rear-end bumper design.

Although no renderings of the Tiguan’s interior are available, they are deemed unnecessary. When Volkswagen previously showcased the crossover’s revamped exterior design, the company also provided a glimpse of the cabin. Notably, the SUV will feature a large landscape-oriented display on the dashboard for infotainment functions, with screen sizes ranging from 12.9 to 15.0 inches depending on the trim. Additionally, a smaller 10.25-inch screen will serve as the driver’s display behind the steering wheel.

The new Tiguan will be based on an updated version of Volkswagen’s existing platform, known as the MQB EVO architecture. While the forthcoming model will be slightly larger than its predecessor, with an increase of 1.25 inches in length and 0.2 inches in height, the wheelbase and width will remain unchanged during the redesign.

Despite Volkswagen’s eagerness to share specific details about the Tiguan, information about its powertrain options remains unknown. However, it is expected that the model will offer gas, diesel, and plug-in hybrid powertrains, with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations available.

Volkswagen is expected to unveil the new Tiguan in the fall, with the official release slated for next year. The European market will likely receive the Tiguan in the first quarter of the year, while the US market will have to wait a bit longer.

As for pricing, it’s unclear whether the Tiguan’s cost will increase. The current base model starts at $28,245 (including the $1,295 destination charge), and the new model may approach the $30,000 range. Competitors in the segment, such as the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Santa Fe, typically start at the upper end of the $20,000 range.

2027 Dacia Sandero Exclusive Rendering Previews Model’s Electric Future

The Dacia Sandero was last year’s second best-selling car in the European market, outperforming popular models like the Volkswagen T-Roc, Fiat 500, Volkswagen Golf, and Toyota Yaris. This Romanian hatchback, known for its simplicity, practicality, and durability, was first introduced in 2008. The third-generation Sandero was launched in 2020, but with Europe’s increasingly stringent emissions standards, it is likely to be the last version powered by a combustion engine.

In our exclusive rendering showcased in the gallery below, we offer a glimpse of what the fourth-generation Sandero might look like. Our colleagues at Motor1.com Italy speculate that the model could transition to an electric vehicle by around 2027. They also suggest that the design will draw inspiration from the Bigster SUV concept.

BMW M5 Touring Spotted in Spy Photos, Impressive Design Revealed

The BMW M5 E61, a high-performance wagon in the 5 Series lineup, was discontinued in 2010. For over a decade, BMW had no go-fast wagon version available. However, in June of this year, the Munich-based automaker hinted at the return of the M5 Touring. Now, for the first time, the speedy wagon has been caught testing on public roads. Our spy photographers recently captured these photos in Germany, and our initial impressions are that the vehicle looks massive and impressive.

BMW M boss Frank van Meel had mentioned earlier that an M5 Touring would be seen on the Nurburgring, and we are delighted to bring you the very first spy photos of this upcoming performance wagon. Although the prototype is camouflaged, the production body and lights are visible. The disguise cannot fully conceal the muscular bumpers and side skirts, and the large 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels appear to be accommodated by wider wheel arches.

Cooper Webb and KTM Factory Racing Part Ways: Effective Immediately

After months of speculation, it has been officially announced that Cooper Webb is leaving KTM Factory Racing. Both parties have mutually agreed to part ways immediately.

Ian Harrison, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager, expressed his gratitude to Cooper Webb for their successful partnership. Together, they achieved 52 podium finishes in the 450SX class, including 21 victories. They won the 450SX titles in 2019 and 2021, had a strong second-place finish in 2020, and finished third this year despite Webb’s season-ending crash in Nashville.

Webb had the option to race in the AMA Pro Motocross series in 2023 but decided against it after his season-ending crash in Nashville. However, he later contacted KTM about racing in the MX series, and they agreed to support him for the summer. Unfortunately, a practice crash before RedBud caused Webb to be sidelined once again.

Both Webb and the team have now decided to go their separate ways. This will give Webb time to recover and move on to the next chapter of his racing career. The team and Ian Harrison wish him the best. Webb’s championship bikes and trophies will continue to be proudly displayed in the KTM race shop lobby.

Webb joined Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in 2019 and won his first 450SX Championship in that same year. He then claimed another premier class crown in 2021 riding the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION.

During their partnership from 2019 to 2023, Webb and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing recorded a total of 21 Main Event wins in the 450SX division of the AMA Supercross Championship. They also secured a single round victory in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship 450MX in 2019. The entire team wishes Cooper Webb all the best in his future endeavors.

FTC Proposes Ban On Fake Online Reviews

Fake reviews have become a significant problem, and the new rules proposed by the FTC may not be sufficient to tackle this issue. While it has been against Amazon’s terms of service for years to post false reviews, the company’s efforts to combat this practice by removing sellers and closing accounts have not fully resolved the problem. In fact, Amazon has taken legal action against companies selling fake reviews in an attempt to address the issue.

However, the new rules may fall short due to several reasons. Many companies that engage in buying fake reviews are based abroad and easily evade capture by reappearing under different names. These fake review companies operate on platforms like Facebook and Twitter, providing limited information and being difficult to trace and prosecute.

Moreover, the wording used by these companies makes it challenging to prosecute them. They typically ask “reviewers” to legitimately purchase a product with a promise of full reimbursement and request “honest feedback.” If the feedback is positive, the “reviewers” are politely asked to post it on Amazon or similar websites.

However, while the regulations may have limitations, they represent a step in the right direction. Fake reviews undermine Amazon’s business model and can result in customers being deceived. Furthermore, they harm legitimate small businesses that adhere to the rules and offer quality products.
