The heart console of the Revuelto is among the most outstanding options that relate to the 350 GTV’s inside, with the trapezoid-shaped design on both aspect of the console seamlessly mixing with the sprint. Opting for the deep brown leather-based inside trim provides much more class to the Revuelto, making a stronger connection between the outdated and the brand new.

Hit A Pothole? Here’s 4 Signs You Need To See A Mechanic ASAP

Your car’s exhaust system is vulnerable to damage when hitting a pothole. If the pothole is deep enough or your car bounces high enough, the tip of your exhaust pipe could hit the ground. Given that the exhaust system is designed to prevent toxic fumes from entering the car, this could lead to serious issues.

Keep an eye and ear out for signs of exhaust damage, such as a distinct sputtering sound from the rear of your car and fluid leaking onto the road. If you notice these symptoms, it could indicate that the exhaust pipe and its associated components have been directly affected. Damaged exhaust can lead to engine failure, so it’s important to have it inspected and repaired as soon as possible.

Tata Punch EV Spotted Testing Again, But With A Clever Disguise Detail

While you can see a tailpipe below the bumper, this camouflaged Punch has its exhaust baked into the bumper

  • Punch EV to get mild design updates over the regular model, likely similar styling to Nexon EV.

  • Tata claims it will get a driving range of over 500km, official powertrain details pending.

  • Features could include a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, up to 6 airbags and a rear parking camera.

  • Can be launched this year at an expected starting price of Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Tata Punch EV has been under development for quite some time and while we wait for its arrival, the camouflaged test mule continues to be spied on the roads. In the latest spy shots, the side and rear profile of the Punch EV were spotted clearly, giving us hints of its design and misguiding us at the same time. Have a look at the spy shots yourself.

Is It The Punch EV?

Yes, while there is a tailpipe below the bumper, it most likely has been stuck on to make us think it’s the ICE (internal combustion engine) Tata Punch. There are two reasons for us to believe that this is the electric version. First, the Punch EV has been spotted previously with rear wheel disc brakes, which can also be seen in these spy shots, and secondly, the current ICE Punch has its tailpipe design integrated into the rear bumper, not sticking out below it.

The Punch EV will also get other design changes including fresh new alloy wheels, which look inspired from the ones we saw on the facelifted Tata Nexon EV. Based on the spy shots so far, the Punch EV could get a redesigned grille and updated air dams. The overall design of the micro SUV will be similar to its petrol counterpart, but Tata could add EV-specific blue elements all around, similar to the ones seen on the Tigor EV and Tiago EV.

Cabin & Features

The cabin can also get a new theme to highlight its electric nature but the details of that are slim. However, from a previous spy shot, we know that its dashboard will house a bigger touchscreen infotainment system and Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo.

The rest of the features could be a semi-digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a rearview camera.

Battery Pack & Range

We previously believed that the Punch EV would get similar battery packs as the Tiago EV and Tiago EV, with a claimed range of between 300km to 350km. However, recently officials from Tata confirmed that the Punch EV will be sporting a claimed range of over 500km, which means that this small EV will house a bigger battery pack with more efficient motors for that extra distance.

Launch & Price

The Tata Punch EV is expected to debut by the end of this year and arrive at an expected starting price of Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a direct rival to the Citroen eC3 while serving as a premium alternative to the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV.

10 Forgotten V-8 Powered Sports Sedans That You Can’t Ignore

From their smooth power delivery to their raw exhaust notes, V8 engines hold a special place in the hearts of enthusiasts. Unfortunately, with pressing environmental concerns and a shift in the market, both the V8 engine and the sedan body style are going away. Apart from a handful of American cars, V8-powered performance sedans are considered a dying breed, while most seem reserved for enthusiasts with deep pockets.

According to KBB: the average price of a new car is hovering at around $48,334, and used car prices are averaging at around $27,147 in 2023. With staggering new car prices and little variety in the V-8 sedan department, enthusiasts are looking into cars from the previous few decades with rose-tinted glasses, where V8 power was almost ubiquitous. Fortunately, there are a plethora of older V-8 performance sedans that deliver exceptional performance without making your wallet a Superleggera.

Even though most would agree that older cars are more fun and engaging to drive, one must be cautious not to veer off into the deep end. There seems to be a consensus among enthusiasts that the vehicles produced between the 1990s and the end of the 2000s hit the perfect balance between reliable modern technology and an analog driving experience. The following list contains older V-8 performance sedans, within the aforementioned era, that are reasonably priced yet slightly overlooked.

We’ve sourced data from Classic.com, and Car and Driver to bring you this list of 10 forgotten V-8 powered sports sedans that won’t break the bank.

10 BMW M5 E39

Avg price on Classic.com: $33,482

Bring A Trailer

The E39 is BMW’s fourth generation of the 5-Series sedan, and the M5 is where BMW’s M division started to bless their cars with V8 engines. The V-8 strapped under the M5 was a beast: 400 horsepower as compared to the 350 hp from the comparable Mercedes and Audi of the period. Power is delivered via a 6-speed manual to a rear limited-slip differential. All complemented by a menacing look, nearly similar to the lesser E39s, making it a poster child of sleeper sedans.

The E39 M5 is arguably the best 5-series sedan that the Bavarian manufacturer ever made. Being the perfect blend of the analog and the modern, the E39 M5 is slowly becoming a sought-after classic among enthusiasts. Prices are slowly creeping up, while ones in pristine condition are commanding a premium.

9 BMW M3 E90

Avg price on Classic.com: $29,695

Via Bring a Trailer

The fourth-gen M3 is arguably BMW’s most daring 3-series; being the only generation of M3 fitted with a V-8 engine. The engine code of the E90 M3 gives the impression that it is related to the V-8 in the E39 M5, but unlike most other M engines, the S65 bears no relation to other BMW production engines. The S65 V-8, along with the S85 V-10 used in the E60 M5, were developed in-house by the M-Division.

This generation of M3 was available in three body styles, just like the E36: offered as a sedan (E90), a coupe (E92), or a convertible (E93). Despite some reported reliability issues, the BMW E92 coupe is highly sought after, with the GTS model taking all the spotlight. The E90 sedan appears to be staying within reach for a while now, making it a perfect pick for enthusiasts seeking practicality and performance.

8 Lancia Thema 8.32

Avg price on Classic.com: $21,274

via Bring a Trailer

The name Lancia evokes an illustrious past with an incredible rally pedigree. Unlike today, Lancia was one of the top Italian manufacturers, making cars for both the public and hard-core enthusiasts. The Thema was a luxury sedan that came out in 1984 and was produced until 1994. It was based on the all-new Type Four platform that was also shared among other Fiat brands. A variety of engines powered the Thema ranging from a 2.0-liter Fiat 834B inline-four to a 3.0-liter Alfa Romeo V-6.

Lancia wanted their Thema to compete with the likes of BMW and Mercedes in the “super-sedan” segment. Since Fiat is also a stakeholder in Ferrari, they allowed Lancia to borrow the Tipo F105L V-8 for their vision of an ultimate sedan. The engine was mounted transversely for a front-wheel drive application, with a cross-plane crankshaft.

The 8.32 in the name implies the number of cylinders, followed by the number of valves. Power was delivered via a five-speed manual. There was also a retractable rear spoiler for stability at high speed that was flush with the trunk lid when not needed. The Thema 8.32 was considered a fantastic car, with even Enzo Ferrari himself having one as his personal car for many years.

Avg price on Classic.com: $20,976

Bring-A-Trailer

The fifth generation of the Quattroporte, which debuted in 2003, was the company’s flagship large sedan. It was powered by a front mid-mounted NA Ferrari V-8 called the F136, which was a joint venture between Ferrari and Maserati. The V-8 used a cross-plane crankshaft and had one of the most addictive soundtracks in the entire industry. It was also considered an icon of Italian elegance, being designed by Pininfarina’s then chief designer.

The M139 Quattroporte had a six-figure price tag when new. Currently, prices are averaging at around the $21,000 mark, but with a good reason. While it is adored for its gorgeous styling and sensational engine noise, it is also well known for its horrendous reliability. The initially offered DuoSelect automated manual transmission was known for burning through clutches and expensive repairs. Fortunately, the latter ZF units were fairly reliable and were less janky.

6 Chevy Impala SS

Avg price on Classic.com: $20,931

Perhaps everyone is familiar with the fourth-generation Chevy Caprice Police Interceptors used in the late 80s and early 90s. Well, for a brief period, they also made some monsters for the villains based on the same platform: the Chevy Impala SS. It was the embodiment of a sleeper muscle sedan from the 90s. It had much of the equipment from the police car twin, including a sport-tuned suspension, dual exhausts, a high-capacity cooling system, and a higher-output electrical system.

It was powered by the same LT1 V-8 engine used in the C4 Corvette of the period, albeit with a slightly different cylinder head, earning it the nickname “The Four-Door Corvette”. Today, the Impala SS seems forgotten, despite its reasonable price tag, good reliability, and performance.

5 Cadillac CTS-V – 1st Gen

Avg price on Classic.com: $20,050

Cadillac

Throughout the years Cadillac had cemented its name as the premier luxury offering from General Motors. However, in 2004, GM decided to throw their strongest punch against their German rivals: the likes of BMW M5 and Mercedes C55 AMG. They took the ordinary CTS sedan and strapped their LS engines snatched from the Corvette, with the only transmission available being a six-speed manual.

The CTS-V was received with much fanfare. The first-gen CTS-V was a bit of a sleeper and a steal next to the German competition of its time, and its pricing remains great by comparison today. It can also be found with much more reasonable pricing than its successor, despite only 8,802 being built.

4 Mercury Marauder – 3rd Gen

Avg price on Classic.com: $18,096

Mercury

In 2003, Ford pulled the same trick Chevy pulled a few years ago with the Impala SS to the Mercury Grand Marquis and named it the Marauder. But unlike the Impala SS, the Marauder was sold in small numbers, 11,052 of them to be exact. Adding to the aura of the sleeper muscle sedan was that 8,330 of the 11,052 were sold in a black color.

Unlike its other panther-bodied brethren, the Marauder shared its V-8 with the fourth-gen Ford Mustang Mach 1. The Marauder also used heavier-duty brake and suspension components from the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. The Marauder is truly an icon with a spirit from the V-8 muscle car era. When you consider that this is the final old-school, body-on-frame, American V-8 muscle sedan, the premium over a standard Grand Marquis would make it a worthwhile purchase.

3 Mercedes-Benz 400E – W124

Avg price on Classic.com: $12,798

Early in the 1990s, the famed partnership between the Stuttgart powerhouses Mercedes and Porsche gave birth to an icon: a 5.0L V-8 powered super sedan dubbed the 500E. Well, the prices of those cars are slowly reaching a new high. The 400E is the little brother of the 500E, not as special but nearly as powerful, currently averaging a quarter of the price.

The 400E and the 500E basically shared the same M119 V-8 engine, except the 500E’s had larger bore and stroke. The 400E is 54 horses less than the 500E, but is still a potent sedan. For the 1994 model year, Mercedes altered the naming convention of their lineup such that the number, which now represents the displacement, came before the letter. Therefore, the 400E is now the 420E but is the same vehicle.

2 Jaguar XJ308

Avg price on Classic.com: $12,425

Mecum

The XJ was Jaguar’s full-size luxury sedan nameplate since the series-1 came out in 1968. The XJ308 was the sixth generation of XJs. It kept much of the same exterior styling as its predecessor, the Jaguar XJ (X300), carrying its rounded four-headlamp hood, low roof-line, sloping tail, and wrap-around rear light clusters. Where the XJ308 differed was in the engine bay, it was the first outing of Jaguar’s legendary AJ-V8 in a sedan body style.

Every available engine for the XJ308 was a V-8 with a displacement beginning at 3.2L. Jaguar only sent the 4.0L versions to the US, both in short and long-wheelbase form, with either a naturally-aspirated V-8 with 290 horsepower, or a supercharged V-8 with a whopping 370 horsepower.

Jaguar greatly benefited from Ford’s ownership back in the day, the XJ308 is considered a fairly reliable Jaguar and the last of the original XJ line before Jaguar’s switch to a more modern approach for the XJ350-generation car. The XJ308 offers a nice sweet spot between the classic and the modern, at a reasonable price tag.

One must be aware that the A8 and S8 were technologically advanced cars for the time, thus keep an eye out for any potential problems that could eventually affect their longevity.

Pro Circuit has released new exhaust models that are compatible with GasGas, Husqvarna, and KTM’s 450-class dirt bikes. If you’re looking for an upgrade in sound and performance, read on.

Pro Circuit now offers two exhaust models made with different materials: Stainless Steel (T-6) and titanium (Ti-6). Both models are designed for closed-course off-road racing and provide enhanced performance. However, it’s important to note that these exhausts meet AMA amateur noise requirements but not the FIM’s requirements, so they may not be suitable for FIM-sanctioned events. Additionally, only the titanium model (Ti-6) comes with a carbon fiber end cap, while the stainless steel versions come with a stainless steel end cap.

In addition to the full exhaust systems, there is also a slip-on version available in stainless steel, which is the most affordable option at $602.95 USD.

The full stainless exhaust system, which includes a header pipe with a high-flow catalyst, is priced at $1,002.95 USD.

The titanium system is the most expensive option, costing $1,269.95 USD, which is over $250 more than the full stainless package.

The Pro Circuit exhaust systems are compatible with the following models:

  • KTM 450 SX-F F.E. 2022 1/2
  • KTM 450 SX-F 2023
  • Husqvarna FC 450 F.E. 2022 1/2

SC-Project Introduces New Slip-On Exhaust System for Honda Forza 350

SC-Project is a renowned brand that offers a wide range of aftermarket exhaust systems for motorcycles, catering to different types of bikes such as sportbikes, adventure bikes, tourers, roadsters, and even scooters. Their latest addition is specifically designed for one of the most popular maxi-scooters in the European market: the Honda Forza 350. While maxi-scooters may not be known for their sportiness, aftermarket exhaust systems continue to be a popular choice for modification among scooter enthusiasts.

The X-Plorer II GT slip-on silencer, which is made for the Forza 350, features a compact and premium design. The primary material used in its construction is titanium, known for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and widely favored for motorcycle exhausts. To further enhance durability and longevity, stainless steel elements are also incorporated.

Not only does this aftermarket exhaust system enhance the overall aesthetics of the motorcycle with its carbon fiber finishes, but it also serves a functional purpose. One of its standout features is the significant reduction in the Forza 350’s weight by 3.1 kg compared to the stock silencer. Moreover, the X-Plorer II GT silencer complies with the stringent Euro5 emissions standards, ensuring that it meets the latest environmental regulations.

In addition to visual and weight advantages, the X-Plorer II GT silencer from SC-Project also delivers noticeable improvements in the motorcycle’s performance. Riders can expect a richer and deeper exhaust note, enhancing the overall auditory experience while riding.

As for performance gains, SC-Project claims that the X-Plorer II GT offers an increase of up to one horsepower and an additional 0.9 Newton-meters of torque at 7,200 rpm. This improvement translates to enhanced acceleration and responsiveness, making the Forza 350 even more enjoyable to ride.

If you’re interested in upgrading your Forza 350 with the SC-Project X-Plorer II GT slip-on silencer, it is available at a premium price of 820 Euros or approximately $860 USD. It comes in a single titanium finish with a carbon fiber end-cap and a carbon fiber heat shield on the link pipe.

New Akrapovič Slip-On Exhausts For Honda CB750 Hornet And XL750 Transalp

Akrapovič has introduced two new slip-on exhaust options for Honda enthusiasts, specifically designed for the Honda XL750 Transalp and the Honda CB750 Hornet. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust for the XL750 Transalp features a black-coated outer sleeve, a lightweight titanium construction, and a stainless steel connecting pipe. The Slip-On Line (Carbon) exhaust for the CB750 Hornet is handcrafted with a carbon fiber outer muffler sleeve, a stainless steel inner frame, and a titanium end cap.

These aftermarket exhaust options offer significant performance enhancements, particularly in the medium to high rev ranges. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust provides a power boost of 0.7 kW and a torque increase of 0.9 lb-ft at 5,700 rpm compared to the stock exhaust system. The Slip-On Line (Carbon) exhaust offers an increase of 0.5 kW and 0.42 lb-ft of torque at 5,250 rpm and 5,300 rpm, respectively.

In addition to performance improvements, both exhaust options reduce weight compared to the stock systems. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust achieves a 39.8% weight reduction, shedding 3.5 pounds, while the Slip-On Line (Carbon) exhaust achieves a 45.6% weight reduction, trimming down by 3.9 pounds.

Installation of these CE/ECE-approved Euro 5 slip-on exhaust systems is hassle-free and does not require remapping. They provide a deep, sporty sound and are fully compatible with Honda’s original soft cases.

Akrapovič Introduces New Slip-On System for the Honda CB750 Hornet

Akrapovič, a renowned aftermarket exhaust system manufacturer, has been offering exhaust systems for motorcycles of all kinds for many years. Whether it’s for top-level racing or everyday commuter bikes, it’s likely that Akrapovič has an aftermarket exhaust system available. As we enter 2023 with stricter emissions and noise regulations, the Slovenian brand continues to innovate and set the standard for aftermarket systems in terms of performance and sound quality.

Akrapovič’s latest product offering is a slip-on system designed for the Honda CB750 Hornet. This relatively new motorcycle model has received positive reviews and is considered by some to be the new standard in the middleweight category. The CB750 Hornet focuses on delivering a balanced and powerful riding experience. With the addition of Akrapovič’s slip-on system, the bike gains a sportier look, a slight improvement in performance, and reduced weight.

The new Akrapovič slip-on system for the Honda CB750 Hornet features a carbon fiber muffler outer sleeve that is hand-crafted. The exhaust core is made from high heat stainless steel and comes with a link pipe that bolts directly onto the stock manifold. Additionally, a titanium end cap adds durability and provides a contrasting visual element to the exhaust pipe. The system makes use of the bike’s stock exhaust mounts and includes a matching carbon fiber bracket that mounts to the base of the passenger foot peg assembly.

From a technical standpoint, Akrapovič claims a weight reduction of 45.6 percent compared to the stock system with their slip-on system. The carbon pipe weighs only 1.8 kilograms. Additionally, there are slight power gains, particularly in the mid to high rpm ranges, although these improvements may not be easily noticeable. The manufacturer states an increase of 0.7 horsepower at 5,250 rpm and 0.4 pound-feet of torque at 5,300 rpm.

Last but not least, Akrapovič’s new system for the CB750 Hornet is fully compliant with Euro 5 standards and has received EC and ECE type-approval. This means that the exhaust system meets the latest emissions and noise regulations in Europe and is likely to comply with regulations in other regions as well. Additionally, the installation process is smooth and seamless, requiring no ECU tuning or remapping.

As of now, official pricing for the Akrapovič slip-on system has not been announced. Prices will vary by region. For more information, visit Akrapovič’s official website or contact a local retailer for details.
