The Las Vegas F1 race was marked by controversy. Nevertheless, brands like Aston Martin still had plenty to showcase during the race weekend with around 60 hot laps for select customers.
YouTuber Tim Burton, also known as Shmee, had the opportunity to drive a DBX707 around the 3.85-mile track. The 697-horsepower SUV, painted in a striking Kermit Green, demonstrated its capabilities on the street circuit, with Shmee pushing the posh family hauler to its limits.
During the video, the front brakes of the DBX707 were seen glowing orange. The vehicle comes equipped with carbon ceramic brakes and six-piston calipers as standard. Compared to the regular DBX, the weight is reduced by nearly 90 pounds.
The automotive industry was in an uproar over the initial proposal for Euro 7 regulations, as it would have forced certain car models to be discontinued. The stricter emissions standards required costly modifications to engine manufacturing processes, which would have made the cars too expensive for consumers. Many engines were on the verge of extinction, but there is now a reprieve.
Last week, European Union ministers reached an agreement to significantly revise the European Commission’s proposal for Euro 7 vehicle emissions. Under the new agreement, the test conditions and emissions limits for cars and vans will remain unchanged from Euro 6 to Euro 7. The revised standard will only affect buses and heavy vehicles. As a result, Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato has confirmed that the V6 engine used in the Quadrifoglio models will not be phased out.
After the controversy surrounding the West Coast Choppers logo, James found himself in another public scandal involving white power imagery. As he went through a divorce with Bullock, a photo of him wearing a Nazi hat and giving a salute started circulating. His attorney, Joe Yanny, defended James by stating that the hat was a gag gift from his Jewish grandfather. Yanny expressed his hope that this would not be such a newsworthy story as to continuously invade James’ privacy and basic rights.
However, the incessant publicity from these scandals became overwhelming for James. Consequently, he made the decision to close the doors of the Long Beach West Coast Choppers shop in 2010. Ironically, earlier that same year, James had welcomed the attention and had positive words to say. The Long Beach Post reported on a ceremony where the city had named the street where his shop was located as West Coast Choppers Place. James expressed his gratitude, stating that he had always believed his shop was somewhat of a nuisance for the city and it was nice to be seen as an asset.
The boldly styled 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is creating quite a controversy, even more so than BMW’s vertical kidney grille revival. It’s not just one design element that stands out, but rather the entire car. The rear of the SUV is particularly striking, with its gigantic tailgate and unusually low-mounted taillights. The profile is reminiscent of the Defender 130, while the H-themed lights add another eye-catching feature.
Shortly after its online premiere earlier this week, the fifth-generation Santa Fe was spotted by Instagrammer shorts_car in an underground parking lot. This particular version appears to be a lower-end model, evident from the simple exhaust tip. In comparison, the models featured in the official gallery had a more polished exhaust finisher. Additionally, the two-tone wheels on this prototype are different, and the rear lacks the giant “Santa Fe” lettering. But let’s not forget, it’s still a prototype.
