In the 1990s, there were some interesting automotive brands that are now defunct. One such brand was Eagle, which was introduced by Chrysler in 1988 as an enthusiast brand aimed at a younger customer base. The lineup mainly consisted of rebranded models from Mitsubishi, Plymouth, and Chrysler, but the brand had its own identity and charm. However, stock examples of Eagle cars are now hard to find.

Recently, the WD Detailing team discovered an original Eagle Talon TSi that had been abandoned for 12 years. The Talon TSi had a turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive. As seen in the video, the car is missing some parts, with the main issue being the lack of an engine under the hood. Finding the original turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the Talon is becoming increasingly difficult.

The specific engine in question is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with around 195 horsepower in the all-wheel drive configuration. The front-wheel drive Talon had a slightly lower rating of 190 horsepower due to its more restrictive exhaust system. Models equipped with a four-speed manual transmission had 180 horsepower due to a different turbo setup.

The Talon was essentially a rebadged and slightly redesigned version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, which was also sold under the Plymouth brand. While they were mechanically identical, the three coupes had their own design elements such as different bumpers, taillights, and wheels. All three cars were manufactured by DSM (a joint venture between Chrysler and Mitsubishi) at their plant in Normal, Illinois.

In its current condition, this black Eagle Talon TSi has potential, despite being far from its factory condition. Not only is it a rare turbocharged all-wheel drive model, but it also doesn’t have significant rust spots on its body. Beta Updates The RX 300 Motocross Machine For The European Market

Italian brand Beta is well-known for its off-road models and success in the world of enduro and motocross. In the European market, Beta has launched the RX 300, a model specifically designed for competitive motocross. While the RX 300 has been available in the U.S. market since 2021, the European version comes with updated features that cater to the motocross segment. Let’s take a look at some of the key details.

When it comes to technology, the RX 300 is equipped with a 300cc, two-stroke, single-cylinder engine that incorporates several performance-oriented enhancements. For instance, the engine boasts a higher compression ratio and a square bore and stroke of 72 x 72 millimeters. The crankshaft has also been redesigned to be lighter, resulting in increased linear power and faster acceleration. Additionally, the rider can fine-tune the valve timing based on their preferences and track conditions.

The new Beta RX 300 also features an adjustable clutch that provides precise power delivery to the rear wheel. Derived from the RR models, the clutch springs offer three points of preload adjustability for easy tuning. In terms of suspension, the RX 300 is equipped with fully adjustable components from Kayaba. The front end boasts a long-travel 48-millimeter inverted fork, offering more travel than the RR 300 enduro model. Meanwhile, the rear shock has been tuned to handle motocross terrains with greater effectiveness.

As for the underpinnings, the Beta RX 300 shares a frame similar to that of the RR 300 enduro model. It rides on 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels equipped with Michelin Starcross 6 tires. Nissin brakes, with a 260-millimeter front and 240-millimeter rear, bring the bike to a stop. In terms of electronics, Beta has minimized the RX 300’s features to ensure simple operation. The electric starter switch is positioned on the right side of the handlebar, while the ignition kill switch is located on the left side. Additionally, the bike is equipped with a lithium battery to reduce weight.

Finally, the Beta RX 300 features restyled graphics in classic Beta colors. Although European pricing has yet to be announced, the availability of the bike is expected before the end of June 2023.

The global search for the best sim racing talent continues for a fourth season in 2023

Sant’Agata Bolognese, 31st May 2023 – The Real Race – Super Trofeo Esports season in 2023 is the fourth edition of the virtual contest for Lamborghini fans worldwide. The competition now takes place on the Assetto Corsa Competizione platform and introduces new format changes. It offers participants the opportunity to compete against elite Esport talent from three different continents.

The Real Race – Super Trofeo Esports showcases the latest Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 race car and represents Lamborghini’s commitment to authenticity, bravery, and unexpectedness in the world of Esports.

Format changes for 2023

This season, aspiring Esport talents can demonstrate their skills live at famous racing venues in Europe. The Fanatec Arena, located at select racing venues hosting the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, allows the public to experience cutting-edge racing simulations. The fastest driver from each event earns a wildcard entry into The Real Race – Super Trofeo Esports Grand Final.

In addition to the on-site activations, drivers from the European region can participate in a four-round online racing series. Prior to each standalone racing event, there will be a hot-stint competition. The NALA and APAC regions will also have their hot-stint qualifications followed by regional finals with the top 24 drivers from each region.

Moreover, the Lamborghini Abu Dhabi and Dubai dealers have partnered with the Real Race program to organize a simulator tour, scouting for the best student racing “drivers” in Abu Dhabi and Dubai’s leading schools and universities. The top three students will represent the UAE in the tournament final.

For European drivers, the challenge is to qualify for each race through a leaderboard hot-stint competition. The top 24 drivers advance to a standalone race using the Assetto Corsa Competizione simulation. The top four finishers from each race earn a spot in the on-site final at the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit.

The final grid will consist of the 16 qualified drivers, one wildcard qualifier from each on-site activation, and the three qualifiers from Lamborghini Abu Dhabi and Dubai. These European finalists and wildcard entrants will compete in an on-site grand final at the Fanatec Arena during the GT World Challenge race weekend at the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit.

A ‘money can’t buy’ prize

The ultimate goal for participants in The Real Race – Super Trofeo Esports series is to win the Grand Final and secure a money-can’t-buy opportunity to become a factory driver in the new Automobili Lamborghini Esports Team. The winners from the NALA and APAC regions will also join the Lamborghini family as proud representatives of the brand in their respective regions.

This tournament expands Lamborghini’s presence in international virtual motorsport, transforming the lives and careers of those who can rise to the top of the Esports racing podium.

The ’80s were not one of the best times in the car industry for muscle cars, but it sure left things open for sports cars. Small cars with big engines that could push out more horsepower than any of the big displacement engines could have ever dreamed of, which is where the idea of a supercar comes in. The label of a supercar is as debated then as it is now, with some saying that the Ford GT1 was the first, others claiming that the original supercar was the Ferrari Miura, while others say you need to go back even further to the 1954 Mercedes-Benz.

No matter how you feel about the subject, the one thing that most experts can agree upon today is that a supercar is a high-performance car (usually a sports car) that can pump out over 400 horses and reach speeds of over 200 MPH. Of course, that is by today’s standards which the vehicles in the ’80s could not meet, at least not the top speeds anyway.

The all-new, fully-electric Jeep® Avenger has added to its collection of international accolades after being named ‘Best Small Car’ at the Autocar Awards 2023.

The Autocar Awards, which celebrates the finest new cars on sale in the UK today, are curated by some of the most informed and experienced automotive journalists in the industry, hand-picking the best of the best in highly competitive categories.

The all-new, fully-electric Jeep® Avenger has gained further international media acclaim after being named ‘Electric Car of the Year’ and ‘Best Electric City Car’ in the TopGear.com Electric Awards 2023, celebrating the industry’s finest electric vehicles across a wide-ranging field of hypercars to hatchbacks.

 

Speaking on the Avenger’s ‘Electric Car of the Year’ title, Jack Rix, Editor of Top Gear Magazine, commented: “The Avenger is one of those cars that seems to have been designed by people who enjoyed their job. ALL-ELECTRIC 500 WINS DUO OF AWARDS AT THE 2023 WHAT CAR? AWARDS

The all-electric Fiat 500 has picked up from where it left off in 2022, gaining further recognition amongst industry experts. For a second year in a row, all-electric 500 has picked up Best Small Electric Car for the City and Best Convertible for Value at the 2023 What Car? Awards.

When awarding the all-electric 500 with Best Small Electric Car, judges praised its design and driving capabilities.

Steve Huntingford, Editor at What Car? said: The instant response from the Fiat 500’s 117bhp motor helps you nip in and out of traffic with ease, while the car’s tiny dimensions and light steering make it great for urban manoeuvres and squeezing into tight spaces. The all-electric Fiat 500 is the first fully-electric Fiat designed from the ground up. The car provides a raft of best-in-class features such as Level 2 Autonomous Driving technologies, a variety of battery options and a substantial driving range of up to 199 miles (WLTP) – the longest range of any electric city car on the market today.

To put the all-electric 500 even further at the forefront of customers’ minds, the car boasts 85kW fast charging, enabling the battery to reach 80 per cent range in just 30 minutes and, more impressively, 30 miles in around five minutes.
