Cloudflare CEO Claims Twitter’s Traffic Is Declining

According to Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince, Twitter is experiencing a significant decrease in traffic. Meanwhile, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been using Threads, a rival platform, to poke fun at Tesla CEO Elon Musk and discuss the possibility of Threads replacing Twitter. Zuckerberg responded to a user’s analysis of Twitter’s monthly active users and its role as a public space by stating his belief in the potential for a town square app with over one billion users. He expressed surprise that Threads has gained traction in just a few days.

In response to speculation that Twitter has censored Threads, Zuckerberg simply replied with a concerned emoji followed by laughter. He has also expressed his desire for Threads to be a positive space with genuine interactions, in contrast to the anger and toxicity prevalent on Twitter.

A significant distinction between Threads and Instagram is that Threads has stricter content restrictions, similar to Instagram, while Twitter allows explicit content. Despite this, Threads seems determined to maintain its momentum and has already launched a beta program for Android. Additionally, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri has confirmed that various features, including a chronological feed and a following feed, are currently being developed for Threads.

The Misconception About Helicopter Crashes You Shouldn’t Believe

A helicopter stays in the air by using its engine to power the top rotor blades, which generate lift. The blades pull air from above the helicopter and force it downward, creating upward momentum in the air. They can also produce forward motion.

To maintain stability and control in any direction, helicopters have a rear rotor blade that acts as a counterbalance. Without it, the helicopter would spin uncontrollably. Even if the main engine is turned off during flight, the rotor blades above the pilot’s head will still spin.

Instead of pulling air down, the rotor assembly would suck air up as the helicopter descends, causing the blades to spin. This is called “autorotation.” The rotors speed up enough to allow the helicopter to safely glide down to the ground, similar to a skydiver’s parachute.

Skilled pilots can maintain control of the helicopter, even if the engine fails. It’s important to note that while the engine produces torque, autorotation caused by air movement does not. This means pilots don’t have to worry about counteracting any spinning tendencies while landing safely.

Sarah Silverman Files Lawsuit Against Creator of ChatGPT for Alleged Copyright Infringement

Sarah Silverman has taken legal action against OpenAI, accusing them of engaging in unfair and unethical behavior by improperly using copyrighted material without giving credit to the original authors. Silverman’s legal representatives argue that OpenAI utilized stolen copyrighted content for their AI models, resulting in financial gains for the company. The lawsuit also alleges that OpenAI and Meta (in a separate lawsuit) not only violated copyright laws but also obtained books through illegal means to use in AI training.

The lawsuit suggests that the only way OpenAI could have obtained the large collection of books used to train their language model was by accessing a “shadow library.” These shadow libraries, such as Library Genesis Z-Library, Sci-Hub, and Bibliotik, provide access to copyrighted materials. OpenAI has never disclosed the sources of the books used in their training datasets, although the lawsuit estimates that one dataset may have included as many as 294,000 titles.

The lawsuit alleges that ChatGPT was able to accurately summarize Silverman’s book when tested, suggesting that her work was included in OpenAI’s training data. The authors never authorized OpenAI to copy their books, making this a direct infringement of their copyrights. This is not the first lawsuit that OpenAI has faced, as the company was previously sued for generating false information through ChatGPT.

5 Of The Best Home Energy Monitors Worth Checking Out In 2023

If you’re looking for a more cost-effective way to measure power consumption, and you’re only interested in certain appliances, a smart plug could be for you. The Wyze Plug can be bought in a pair for $20, and anything you plug into that socket can be measured. This works for things like your TV, Xbox, microwave, etc. The downside is you’re not going to be measuring your entire house’s energy consumption, but that’s what the other options are for.

The Wyze Plug comes with some cool features, too. If you’re on vacation somewhere, you can actually set your plug to a “vacation” mode that will randomly turn your stuff on and off to make it look like somebody is at home using it. It responds to both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, so your heavy hitters are covered. You can put all of the plugs into the Wyze app and it works exactly the same as the other apps mentioned before.

The main difference here is you won’t have a main hub installed into your breaker box. Eventually, the cost of plugs will overcome the initial cost of having an energy monitor installed, so don’t go overboard.

Citroen eC3 vs Tata Tiago EV: Space & Practicality Comparison

Both electric vehicles offer a real-world range of over 200km, but which one is more livable within the city?

If you’re trying to choose an affordable electric hatchback in India, you might feel undecided between the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV. Both EVs have their own set of advantages and disadvantages, but which one is the all-rounder? In this review, we’ll compare the space and practicality of both the EVs to help you decide which one suits you best.

Before we continue, our partner website has conducted a ride and handling comparison of both EVs, which you can read here.

Key

To begin with the key, the eC3 receives a remote key with lock and unlock buttons, which gives it an outdated feel. Even in the top-spec variant of the eC3, the key needs to be inserted to bring the EV to life, as it doesn’t have the push-button start feature.

On the other hand, the Tiago EV’s key fob can rest in your pocket as Tata’s electric hatchback comes with a passive entry feature and a push-button start/stop as well. Unlike the eC3, Tata’s EV also comes with auto-folding ORVMs.

Looks

The Citroen eC3 has an SUV-like stance due to its upright presence. Elements like body cladding and roof rails give it a rugged look. But it still gives an outdated vibe due to the flap style door handles and fender-mounted turn indicators. It also looks the same as the C3, and Citroen could have done more to differentiate the looks of its electric hatchback from that of its ICE iteration.

On the other hand, the Tiago EV is a stylish hatchback that can be easily distinguished from the regular Tiago. Its distinct color scheme, bumper design, and blue accents allow this vehicle to stand out in a crowd. In contrast to the eC3, the Tiago EV is equipped with projector headlamps and turn indicators mounted on the outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs). It also has a font used for the Tiago.ev badging that adds more value to the customers who are willing to pay a more premium amount for an electric vehicle.

In terms of dimensions, the eC3 is larger than the Tiago EV. The eC3 rides on 15-inch alloy wheels, while the Tiago EV features smaller 14-inch steel wheels with wheel caps. However, the eC3 lacks the distinguishing factors typically associated with electric cars. In contrast, Tata’s electric hatchback, despite its smaller size, possesses a more appealing overall design.

Interior

The eC3’s cabin features a funky design, highlighted by contrast-colored door pockets and a dotted pattern on the dashboard. However, the materials used could have been better, and the panel gaps in certain areas could have been more uniform. The eC3 offers a higher driving position, resulting in improved visibility and better judgment of the car’s dimensions in traffic.

The Tiago EV’s dashboard showcases a sober and mature design. The quality of the plastics used is comparable to that of the eC3, but the fit and finish is a concern with Tata’s electric hatchback. In terms of the seating position, it is not as elevated as the eC3, but maneuvering the Tiago EV through city traffic isn’t challenging.

Features

Both electric hatchbacks are equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system that supports connected car technology, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. They also feature a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, digitized driver’s display, height-adjustable driver’s seat, and steering-mounted controls.

Citroen eC3: The eC3 features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, which is larger than that of the Tiago. It also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but there are some issues with Bluetooth connectivity that could potentially be resolved in the future through a software update. The eC3’s feature list is basic for a top-end variant of an electric vehicle, with several amenities missing, such as passive keyless entry, rear camera, cruise control, automatic AC, and more.

Tata Tiago EV: The Tiago EV comes with a smaller 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, but it compensates with an 8-speaker Harman sound system, push-button start/stop, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a rear parking camera, automatic air conditioning, and more. The digitized instrument cluster in the Tiago is also more advanced and stylish compared to the eC3.

Rear Seat Comfort

Citroen eC3: The eC3 feels more spacious than the Tiago EV. It offers a good space for two people at the rear, while adding one more person would make it a little congested. It also offers ample headroom and legroom.

Tiago EV: The Tiago EV is not as spacious as the eC3, and its rear seat is not suitable for accommodating three people comfortably. While the legroom is adequate, it doesn’t provide the same airy feel as the eC3.

Practicality

Both the eC3 and Tiago EV offer good practicality with cupholders, storage areas, bottle holders, and door pockets. The eC3 has more charging ports and a dedicated smartphone tray. However, the layout of the rear power window controls in the eC3 is not ideal.

Boot Space

The eC3 offers more boot space and comes with a spare wheel. The Tiago EV has less boot space and doesn’t have a spare wheel, as the battery pack is accommodated inside the vehicle.

Boot Space

Citroen eC3

Tata Tiago EV

315 litres

240 litres

Ride Comfort

Both EVs offer good ride comfort, but they have slight variations in their response to road undulations. The eC3 has a more SUV-like riding characteristic due to its ample suspension travel, while the Tiago EV has a more hatchback-like ride. The Tiago EV feels more plush in the city and maintains stability at higher speeds.

Warranty

Both the Tiago EV and Citroen eC3 offer warranty coverage on the battery pack, electric motor, and vehicle. Tata offers a longer warranty period for the battery pack and electric motor compared to Citroen.

Warranty

Citroen eC3

Tata Tiago EV

Battery Pack

7 years / 1,40,000km

8 years/ 1,60,000km

Electric Motor

5 years / 1,00,000km

8 years/ 1,60,000km

Vehicle Warranty

Price & Verdict

Citroen eC3

Tata Tiago EV

Rs 11.50 lakh to Rs 12.76 lakh

Rs 8.69 lakh to Rs 12.04 lakh

All prices are ex-showroom Delhi

Both electric vehicles offer a range of over 200km based on our real-world tests, which is practical for city usage. While the eC3 is more focused on space and practicality, the Tata Tiago EV offers more premium amenities and better performance at a lower price. The eC3 costs Rs 90,000 more than the Tiago EV and only offers around 20 kms more of range, but it lacks some key features. This makes Tata’s electric hatchback a better value for money option and a better fit for your family.

So, who should buy these? The eC3 is suitable for those who prioritize space and ground clearance, while the Tiago EV is a better choice for those who want a premium cabin experience and a fun-to-drive electric vehicle.

In Italy, UM Motorcycles has introduced an exciting selection of cruisers and retro-inspired motorcycles. These models have been carefully designed to cater to the various preferences and tastes of riders, offering a wide range of options. What makes these models even more appealing is their budget-friendly pricing, targeting the cost-conscious segment of the market.

UM Motorcycles exclusively offers small-displacement bikes in the Italian market, ranging from 125cc to 300cc. These motorcycles are specifically designed for beginners, providing them with stylish alternatives that match the appearance and feel of their larger counterparts. Chinese Motorcycle Manufacturer AW Unveils Sporty 500 R And 500 N

China has emerged as a significant player in motorcycle manufacturing in recent years. Many brands have originated from China, and established brands have collaborated with Chinese manufacturers to increase their production and market presence. AW is one such brand that has recently entered the scene.

AW is a relatively new company that made its debut at a trade fair in China in 2021. The brand has just unveiled its first two models, the 500 N and 500 R, both based on the same platform. While these bikes share the same engine and components, they differ in terms of styling. The AW 500 N and 500 R use an engine from another Chinese manufacturer, Loncin, which is similar to Honda’s parallel-twin engine in terms of architecture.

Both the AW 500 N and 500 R deliver 45 horsepower, making them competitive in the entry-level motorcycle segment. Weighing in at 186 kilograms, these bikes are lightweight and accessible to a wide range of riders. AW has equipped the 500 N and 500 R series with premium features, such as adjustable inverted front forks and a link-type shock in the rear. The bikes are also equipped with dual disc brakes with radially mounted four-piston calipers.

In terms of technology, AW’s new models follow the industry trend with a large, full-color display that is likely Bluetooth compatible. The bikes differentiate themselves in terms of styling, with the 500 R adopting a traditional fully faired sportbike design, while the 500 N takes inspiration from premium modern classics like the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR and MV Agusta Superveloce, featuring a sporty and angular design with a touch of retro styling.

The AW 500 series has been launched in China with a price of around $4,400 USD. While there is no confirmation of plans to export these models to the global market, considering the rise of Chinese motorcycles in the international market, it is a possibility worth considering.

Can This 1983 Kawasaki GPZ1100 Complete a 3,000-Mile Journey? Almost

Encountering an abandoned Kawasaki GPZ1100 is not an everyday occurrence. It’s even more unusual when a motorcycle like that is given to you for free. This is exactly what happened to Anthony from Motorcycle Rewind when he was offered the 1983 Kawasaki GPZ1100 for no charge.

Restoring an old bike and taking it on an epic 3,000-mile road trip is not something you see every day either. However, that’s exactly what Anthony did with this old Kawasaki GPZ1100.

The motorcycle was abandoned and neglected for a long time. It was left outside to decay, missing various parts that needed to be replaced. The engine was seized and required a complete rebuild. The bike was falling apart and seemed unlikely to even complete a single mile of its planned 3,000-mile journey.

It took a considerable amount of time and effort to gather all the necessary parts and resurrect this 80s machine. Anthony described the project as more than just a restoration—it was a resurrection.

After getting the bike in shape, the ultimate test began—a trip from Slidell, LA, to Erie, Colorado.

So, did the bike make it? Well, yes and no. While the Kawasaki was able to cover the majority of the trip, it stopped working completely when it was about 100 miles away from home. Despite this setback, Motorcycle Rewind considers the journey a success, and many would agree.

After the main vlog, there is a question-and-answer video addressing some of the queries that viewers might have. Anthony deserves credit for making this project happen, and with a little more work, perhaps this very motorcycle will continue to ride for many more miles.
