Range Rover’s First Electric SUV Promises V8 Performance

The inevitable is occurring – JLR (formerly known as Jaguar Land Rover) is teasing its first-ever electrical Range Rover. Even earlier than the total debut, the British luxurious model is already accepting preorders from early adopters. In the meantime, preliminary particulars verify the high-end SUV will not lose its iconic off-road chops.

The change from combustion engines to a totally electrical powertrain will not come on the expense of all-terrain skills. The model says prototypes are being subjected to one of many harshest testing packages ever to make sure go-anywhere capabilities. Land Rover mentions the Range Rover Electric will wade by way of waters as deep as 33.4 inches. That means it’s going to match the mighty Defender fitted with its coil-spring suspension.

11 Budget-Friendly Luxury Cars To Buy Second-Hand

If you prefer British sedans over Korean ones, the Jaguar XF is a rare but attractive option. The 2021 model has been revamped with changes to the exterior and a complete overhaul of the interior. The interior now features a large touchscreen and has done away with the clutter of the old model. In its top-spec R-Dynamic form, it boasts 296 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 155 mph.

However, there are some considerations when buying a Jaguar or any JLR product. The brand is not known for its strong build quality, and even our test car experienced issues with the infotainment system. But when everything is working properly, the XF feels just as luxurious as its competitors in the class.

Finding an XF for sale may not be easy, as only 1,183 examples were sold in the United States in 2021. However, for the few that do appear on the market, KBB suggests a fair purchase price of $41,696 at the time of writing.

JLR CEO Apologizes for Parts Delays as 5,000 Cars Await Repair

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) CEO Adrian Mardell expressed his dissatisfaction with the delays at the company’s new parts logistics hub in Leicestershire, which have resulted in thousands of cars in the UK being unable to be repaired.

During a discussion on JLR’s financial performance in the previous quarter, Mardell openly discussed the challenges that have arisen from downsizing JLR’s UK parts supply network from 18 warehouses to one large facility known as Mercia Park in Leicestershire.

According to a report by Car Dealer Magazine, around 10,000 cars in the UK were taken off the road due to delays at Mercia Park, with dealers unable to fit replacement parts. Autocar then revealed that dealers were advised to use second-hand parts in order to address the backlog.

Mardell confirmed to Autocar that the delays have had an adverse impact on after-sales performance, and resolving this issue is a top priority for the company in the coming months.

He explained, “Although this transition was planned, it has taken longer than we anticipated. I want to make it clear that nobody wanted this, and as an organization, we take responsibility for this change, along with our partner.”

Mardell also expressed the company’s apology for the delays.

“To be absolutely clear, we are extremely unhappy about this. Just like the challenges we face with vehicle theft, this issue has the highest priority within our organization and our partner organization, Unipart Logistics,” Mardell emphasized.

Mardell stated that he is in regular communication with Unipart as resolving this issue is of utmost importance to both parties.

He also mentioned that in October, the number of parts waiting to be shipped to dealers decreased for the first time since Mercia Park became operational. Although reports indicated that approximately 10,000 JLR cars were off the road in the UK awaiting parts, Mardell stated that the number has reduced, and the current count is under 5,000.

Jaguar E-Type With Supra 2JZ Engine, BMW M3 Gearbox Will Upset Purists

The Jaguar E-Type is often regarded as one of the most stunning cars ever created, alongside the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing and the Lamborghini Miura. However, the version showcased at the 2023 SEMA show in Las Vegas is far from ordinary. Designed by DevSpeed Motorsports, this modified E-Type, displayed at Eneos’ booth, has sparked controversy.

As purists may cringe at the thought, this 1969 XKE 2+2 is powered by a 2JZ-GTE engine sourced from a Toyota Supra. To boost its performance, it features a Borg Warner EFR 8474 turbocharger. The power is then transmitted through a five-speed ZF manual gearbox borrowed from a BMW M3 E36.

To enhance its braking capabilities, the front brakes were taken from a 2003 Chevrolet Corvette (C5), while the rear brakes were sourced from a 2010 BMW 5 Series Sedan (535i, E60). The vehicle is equipped with 17-inch Rotiform two-piece wheels paired with Bridgestone Potenza tires measuring 225/45 R17 at the front and 255/40 R17 at the rear. The car also boasts other components from the BMW 5 Series, including the rear subframe assembly and differential.

In order to accommodate the larger tires, the E-Type underwent 3D-printed fender flares that were reinforced with carbon fiber. This modified E-Type features various aftermarket parts, such as a custom front suspension, Silvers coilovers, a DevSpeed roll cage, an OMP steering wheel, Tillett seats with Schroth harnesses, and an OBP pedal box and foot panels.

This unique E-Type is being touted as a “hot rod for the street and track” by its creators. It will be on display at SEMA 2023 until November 3, so make sure to check it out.

Jaguar XJ220: A Fast Tour of Monaco at 5 MPH

The Jaguar XJ220 was a competitor to the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959. However, unlike its rivals, this British supercar hasn’t seen a significant increase in value. According to Hagerty’s stats, it generally sells for less than $1 million. In this video, former Fifth Gear host Tiff Needel, who is also a racing driver, takes the XJ220, which is up for auction, on a ride through Monaco and the neighboring mountains.

Needel meets up with former Formula One driver Thierry Boutsen to examine the Jaguar supercar. The two share a friendly relationship and jokingly reminisce about their racing days. Boutsen, who deals in specialty automobiles as part of his business in Monaco, is the seller of the car.

This Restomod Jaguar Pays Tribute to Enzo Ferrari, the Biggest Fan of the E-Type

In 1961, Enzo Ferrari famously hailed the Jaguar E-Type as “the most beautiful car ever made.” Inspired by this praise, a special Jaguar E-Type Series 1 restomod has been created to pay homage to Il Commendatore. This unique car features a body finished in Ferrari’s iconic Rosso Corsa red.

Helm Motorcars is the company behind the creation of this stunning Jaguar. Apart from its eye-catching color, this overhauled E-Type boasts modern technology that enhances its usability in today’s world. For instance, the exterior now includes parking sensors both at the front and rear, with LED turn signals for improved illumination.

Jaguar’s Special F-Type Marks the End of 75 Years of ICE Sports Cars

Jaguar is bidding farewell to its iconic F-Type model with the limited edition Type ZP, marking the end of 75 years of combustion-engined Jaguar sports cars. Inspired by the ‘Project ZP’ E-Types that raced at Le Mans in the 1960s, this special edition will be offered as both a coupé and a convertible.

Only 150 units of this final edition will be sold worldwide, with 10 reserved exclusively for UK customers.

The Type ZP will join the F-Type 75, which was unveiled last year, for its last year of production. Both versions come with unique features that set them apart from the standard model, which now only comes with a 296bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The special editions offer a choice of a 444bhp or a 567bhp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine.

All three engines will be retired next year as Jaguar prepares to reinvent itself as a fully electric luxury brand by 2025. The F-Type will be joined in retirement by the XE, XF, E-Pace, and F-Pace models.

One of the standout features of the Type ZP edition is the hand-painted white racing roundel on each door, paying homage to the Le Mans racers. Additionally, two color options are available, both inspired by the Le Mans racers. One features gloss blue paint with red-and-black leather upholstery, while the other offers gloss grey paint with blue-and-brown leather upholstery.

Both color variations include gloss white grille surrounds to match the roundels on the doors, which contrast with the gloss black brake calipers and exterior trim pieces. ‘ZP Edition’ badges can be found on the front wheel arches.

2024 Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition Marks End Of Company’s ICE Sport Cars

The 2024 Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition will be the last Jaguar sports car with an internal combustion engine. This limited-production model comes in a coupe or convertible body style and features an enhanced appearance package by Jaguar’s SV Bespoke group. The exterior is available in two color options: Oulton Blue Gloss or Crystal Grey Gloss. The blue option comes with a red and black two-tone interior, while the gray option has a blue and black interior, both of which have never been offered on the F-Type before.

The F-Type ZP Edition showcases hand-painted roundels on the doors and white grille surrounds, paying homage to the E-Type race cars from the 1960s. It rides on 20-inch wheels with black inserts and includes black interior trim. Special badging is placed on the fenders, door sills, and dashboard, along with a unique plaque indicating the production number out of the 150 units being built.

Under the hood, the F-Type ZP Edition shares the same mechanicals as the F-Type R in P575 trim. This means it is equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the F-Type R to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

Place Bids On Supercar Collection With Ferrari 512 TR Spider, 46-Mile Jag XJ220

In November, RM Sotheby’s will be auctioning off The Factory Fresh collection, which consists of 20 vehicles. One standout in the collection is a 30-year-old Jaguar XJ220 with only 46 miles, making it incredibly rare. Another highlight is a 1994 Ferrari 512 TR Spider, one of only three ever built, finished in a unique blue color with a dark blue interior. Although it doesn’t have the low mileage of the Jaguar, with only 354 miles on the odometer, it’s still an exceptional find.

The Ferrari’s rarity and low mileage have led RM Sotheby’s to estimate its value at up to £2.7 million ($3.3 million). In comparison, the Jaguar is valued at $460,000 to $521,000.

But that’s not all.

Another rare gem in the collection is a 1991 Bentley Turbo R Drophead Coupe, of which only two were built. Originally a coupe, it was later converted to a convertible with Pininfarina styling. This Bentley has traveled a mere 460 miles, preserving its factory fresh condition.

Additionally, the collection includes a 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta, one of 48 built with right-hand drive. It features the iconic Ferrari shade of Rosso Corsa with a black interior. Despite its desirability, the convertible Ferrari has only been driven for 137 miles.
